Prompt # 1 - Summer - Sebastian Pardo - "How I spend my Summers; Self-Portrait with Plastic Bag"

Photobucket

This was going to be a video I am working on. Perhaps some time this weekend I'll post it. In the mean time see above.
---
And with this post we end the first Prompt series! Thank you for all the submissions! I hope you've enjoyed the process, and that you looked at what your peers submitted. Again click on the Prompt #1 tab below to see all the submissions. I'm looking forward to more submissions in the future. (Remember you are welcome to submit your own ideas for Prompts. I don't want you to feel like it's that thing when you are racing someone, and the person who says go gets a like 2-3 step head start. )

And with that, have a good weekend! Irate Panda Blog will be closed for the weekend, (Except it's still Pierre Huyghe week!) and on monday look for the Launch of the new Irate Panda Blog Curation Series.

Unless no one submits.. then look for it.. uh.. never?

Prompt # 1 - Summer - Madeline Hollander - "The Deer Follower"

The Deer Followers
While walking up a trail in the Berkeley Hills I came across two men wearing black suits, shiny black leather shoes, and sunglasses. At first glance I thought that they were overdressed land-surveyers, and then noticed that they were following a pair of deer grazing on the hillside. For almost an hour I followed these men as they cautiously crept up to the deer to take photos. Each time, upon seeing the men approach, the deer would run further up the hill, and then the men would follow. The men got so hot from repeatedly running up the hill that they had to take off their black coats. These are the images I took while following the two men photographing the two deer. Unlike the deer, neither man ever acknowledged my presence despite how close I got to the scene. Then I realized that I never turned around to look to see if anyone was following me...perhaps somewhere there exist photographs of me photographing the men photographing the deer.

Prompt # 1 - Summer - Colin Trenbeath "Legs"

Prompt # 1 - Summer - Marie Nguyen with a short Story and "DSC_1361.jpg"

During my summer, I came upon the story of a summer that happened a very long time ago. Here is Valerie's story of her father and her uncle.

The brothers attempted an adventure together. The first night in a youth hostel, they were robbed. Usually, occupants are not allowed to check out of the hostel at night, but the robber had exclaimed that he had been robbed. He went into the final patch of night, and so the brothers started their journey with half their budget. They rented a car to drive out of Europe, through the desert and into Africa. They saved, camped and lived in the great expanse of sand. They reached the Dead Sea where the one road through was blocked by a crane. There was no one else around. They came to the decision that they should drive around the crane and try the shallow waters. The car immediately became stuck in the water, but suddenly a man appeared and used the crane to pull them from their small disaster. They had to pay him for the service and greatly suspected him of a scam. Fifty years later, they wanted to complete the same tracing through the continents.
